About Robert Walters, MD, PhD

Robert Walters, MD, PhD, is a general dermatologist at Idaho Skin Institute in Twin Falls, Idaho. 

Dr. Walters completed medical school and graduate school at the Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa. He completed his dermatology residency at Duke University Medical Center, where he served as chief resident. 

Afterward, Dr. Walters joined the faculty at Duke University, where he directed the Acute Care Dermatology Clinic, trained dermatology residents, and participated in basic science research under the mentorship of a Nobel prize-winning scientist. Following his academic career, he joined the Dermatology and Skin Care Center of New Mexico, where he helped build the largest dermatology specialty clinic in the state. 

Dr. Walters brings to Twin Falls an extensive background in teaching, research, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of skin diseases with a focus on skin cancers. He believes in treating patients like family and providing state-of-the-art care for patients. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. 

When he is not at work, you can find Dr. Walters hiking and camping with his wife, Lara, and their two dogs, Pratt and Whitney.
